Ridership Report: Spring 2010 (Feb. - May)

We've had some good news recently on our ridership numbers. The last time we posted them was early February (mostly because we've been way too busy this spring). At that time we discussed the December 2009 and January 2010 ridership numbers. Each of those months had lower ridership than the same month in the prior year, not a good indication. On top of that, the "fiscal year to date" showed our ridership down 2.32%.

Each month since them we have been showing more riders than in 2009.

February 2010 had 223,924 riders, up 6.21% from Feb. 2009.
March 2010 had 257,799 riders, up 8.85% from March 2009.
April 2010 had 254,206 riders up 5.04% from April 2009.
May 2010 had 236,669 riders up 1.84% from May 2009.

Bicycle use of the buses is holding steady, actually up a bit from Spring 2009, but down from Fall 2009, at 2,800 per month.

For the year to date, we have had 2,647,060 riders, up .41% from the same time in 2009.

With only one month to go in the fiscal year (the State fiscal year ends June 30th), we are ahead of ourselves last year.
