Update on Car Free Challenge

Santa Rosa CityBus' own Fabian Favila has entered the TransForm Car Free Challenge. His first blog entry was an entertaining one and answered a lot of questions that his co-workers have about him, such as "How did he become such a fan of transit?" He points out the simple logic of incorporating transit into one's life:

About my middle school years my friends and I discovered the bus for ourselves. We could now crisscross the city and explore, and go pretty far. It was a new sense of freedom. We were no longer confined to our neighborhood. Speaking of buses, I also used to take the intercity bus –something called Greyhound—to my grandmother’s house about 55 miles south of San Jose when I was in the 5th grade or so. It was normal. It was a way of life. It worked.

Fabian has also sent out a request for donations in support of his fund raising goal and the work that TransForm does as an advocacy group for transit in the Bay Area and California. But if you can't donate, he'd be just as happy if you tried taking transit every now and then. Just get on the bus! It's affordable and easy.
